On the straight and narrow: Wonky the dumped dog on the mend and can finally go walkies

The Dog’s Trust had 600 offers from around the world to take Wonky the 12-week-old Staffordshire bull terrier following our story

Wonky is pup on all paws – after being abandoned in a street, barely able to hobble on her horrifically bent front legs.
Only last Saturday the Mirror told how the 12-week-old Staffordshire bull terrier was suffering because the tendons in her legs were too short.
But after intensive physiotherapy, 30 times a day for a week, she can now finally go walkies.
Dogs Trust manager Amanda Sands said: “She is getting on absolutely fine and her legs are so much stronger.
"She’ll need regular trips to a specialist.”
Vets believe the condition, known as knuckling of the carpal joints, was caused by a lack of milk because she was taken from her mum too early.
The Dog’s Trust in Leeds had 600 offers from around the world to take Wonky after our story.
Amanda has now dispensed with her nickname and calls her Juliette.
She added: “The support and response has been absolutely incredible.”
Nice to see her yappy after feeling so wuff.
